Emily Rose Simons is a musical theatre writer known for strong melodies, deep emotions and quirky wit who has worked mainly in London and New York. She has an MFA from the Graduate Music Theatre Writing Program, Tisch, NYU, a BA and MA in Music from the University of Bristol, is an alum of the Book, Music, Lyrics workshops and currently a member of MMD Advance Lab. She is currently developing book, music and lyrics on Becoming Nigella, that has been supported by ACE, was selected for MMD’s BEAM and has been performed in concert at The Other Palace. She is also the composer-lyricist on The Inconvenient Miracle with Emily Claire Schmitt as book writer and Ria T. DiLullo as director, which has received development performances in New York with support from EAG, Primary Spaces, The Tank NYC and New York New Works. Her newest show in development is The Funeral Lady, which is being developed with the Mrs C Collective.
